While traveling the southeast in our band Conservation Theory we would play many breweries, experiencing wonderful settings and fantastic beer. We wanted to bring that experience home to our corner of South Carolina. After some discussion and heart felt consideration we decided to do just that and Jocassee Valley Brewing was formed. We showcase our select brews and items from other regional breweries that meet our eclectic standards. At JVB it is all about the experience of good brew, good music and a darned good time. We are a family friendly establishment and children are part of our existence and dogs are welcome (well behaved and leashed)
We bring you the best in Americana, blues, bluegrass, old time, jazz and singer songwriter performance. The genres are wide ranging and bring you a great musical experience. During the week we have old time jams, bluegrass jams, and singer-songwriter nights. Friday and Saturday, and often Sundays, we have concerts from the best performers in the southeast and beyond.
We are located in the Crown of the Carolinas, the gateway to the Blue Ridge Mountains, and home to three magnificent large lakes, several quaint smaller lakes and the Chattooga and Chauga rivers. Over 27 waterfalls grace our mountainous area with miles of hiking trails. Nature is precious, visit it for the day and drop by for a refreshing glass of cold draught when you are through!
Our house recipes are based on the personal preferences of the brew crew going from IPA to Hefewiezen. Not all our beers are on the tap as we create small batches in collaboration and they tend to sell out very quickly. We supplement our tap wall with local and regional beers we find appealing and are sure you will as well.
Named after a local mountain that has been a legendary hangout for locals over a century this IPA has the hoppy bite and medium bitterness you are longing for
Germanic leanings bring about this dark wheat beer. The color is just past copper, the taste is smooth and drinkable
A cool clean wheat beer with peaches added before the fermenter. A wonderful rendition of the traditional German wheat with a side of fruit.
True to the hefe style, wonderfully crisp light bodied wheat beer with refreshing carbonation
Our New England Style IPA, super juicy with plenty of hop character
Eastatoe, (Valley of the Green Bird) Cherokee reference for the long extinct Carolina Parakeet. This is our gose', slightly sour with a fruity back end of kiwi (the fruit is inspired by the Cherokee homonym Keowee)
We understand that not everyone is beer able. We keep a select order of wines in the cooler. Chardonnay, Muscado, Sauvingnon Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon
In order to supplement our tap wall and keep something for everyone we provide a great selection of beer, ciders, boozy waters, etc.
We host food trucks every Friday and Saturday and have started to host more almost every day we are open. For updates or more information call 864-873-0048
We have T shirts, pint glasses and stickers with our logo. We now have long sleeve T-Shirts, hoodies, and caps.
We are as passionate about music as we are about our beer!! Being musicians ourselves we love to provide a place that is great for both audience and performer. An intimate space for an up close musical experience.
The sun goes down on our outdoor stage, our fireplace is to the left of the stage and picnic tables and a canopy tent grace our outside area. A relaxing idyll with a brew in hand. When it is a little too cold for musicians to play outside we move the music in for the winter.
We'd love to have you visit with us!!
